Seal of the City of South Bend, Indiana Curbside Christmas tree pickup extended
The city of South Bend has extended Christmas tree pickup, on a call-in basis, for another week – January 25- 29.

Jan 22, 2010

The city of South Bend has extended Christmas tree pickup, on a call-in basis, for another week – January 25- 29.  Residents are asked to place trees at curbside only, and not in the alley, and then call the Division of Streets at 235-9244 to schedule a pickup.  If trees are still buried or covered by snow, please assist crews in locating trees for pickup by pulling them out of snow piles.
All trees are recycled at South Bend's Organic Resources facility.  Residents can also drop off live trees at the following locations:

  • Rum Village Park - Ewing Ave. at Gertrude St.
  • Pinhook Park - 2800 block of Riverside Dr.
  • Veterans' Memorial Park - Twyckenham at Northside Blvd.

Please Note:  Drop off is for Christmas trees ONLY - no trash is permitted under any circumstances!  Placing of any items other than Christmas trees is a ticket-able offense under the South Bend Municipal Code.

The drop-off locations are open seven days a week from 7 am to 5 pm and signs will be posted to direct residents to designated drop-off point's at all three locations.  All trees are recycled as Organic Resources into high quality mulch, which is provided, free, to South Bend residents.
